Operation Smile

Index NDT's team makes a monthly donation to Operation Smile, which over the year pays for one child's surgery. Operation Smile began in the United States in 1982, and since then they have grown to become a global network of foundations and have together provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults born with facial deformities.

Everywhere they go they work to build sustainability through training and education of local healthcare professionals. They often leave behind vital medical equipment and supplies. And in some countries where the need is tremendous, they have established permanent care centres so children can be treated year round.

The global partnerships they create, the knowledge they share and the infrastructures they build leave a legacy that lives beyond their medical missions—making a lasting difference in our world.
